21st October 2007 - Division 2
High Green Salutation 0-6 Sheppey FC
Sheppey cruised to their fifth consecutive league win to move three points clear at the top of Division 2. After an insipid opening to the game Sheppey seized the initiative on the quarter hour mark. Fullback Paul Wright scored his first ever Sheppey goal, driving the ball home from 15 yards after a Staniforth effort was blocked. Sheppey were now starting to play some good football and extended their lead on 24 minutes. Veal swung in a right wing corner and Staniforth pounced on a poor defensive clearance to find the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Thegame was made safe in a two minute spell just before the half time break. Chipchase made it 3-0 on 37 minutes, collecting the ball in the centre circle before beating two defenders and calmly slotting the ball past the advancing keeper from 15 yards. Two minutes later some quick touch passing between Reynolds and Chipchase saw the latter send Dunhill away down the left and his cross was turned into the top corner by Staniforth.
HT 4-0
Sheppey started the second half comfortably, playing the ball around and not allowing High Green any sustained possession. On 65 minutes it was 5-0 as Morris latched onto Taylor's long ball forward and flicked the ball over the advancing keeper from the edge of the box. High Green were still struggling to create any real chances and Matt Wright in the Sheppey goal had yet to be called into serious action. Ten minutes from time Sheppey added a sixth.
