25th November 2007 - Division 2
Sheppey FC 0-1 High Green Salutation
Sheppey's 100% start to the league season ended with an unexpected defeat to struggling High Green. With several experienced players out injured Sheppey were forced to field a makeshift defence but still probably should have won the game. New signing Craig Holland made his debut but found himself called upon to play in goal. He was in action as early as the sixth minute, tipping a fierce drive onto the post before foiling High Green twice more in one on one situations. The only goal of the game arrived in the 35th minute, Holland saved the High Green right winger's initial effort, Paul Wright blocked his second on the line but then his attempted clearance bounced off the High Green player into the net. Four minutes later Staniforth rattled the crossbar with a shot on the angle after good work from Morris on the right.
HT 0-1
Sheppey started the second half by hitting the woodwork for the second time in the match. This time Reynolds was out of luck, his half volley from the edge of the box cannoning back off the angle of post and bar. Sheppey spent almost the entire half camped inside the High Green half but despite creating numerous chances, they failed to find the back of the net for the first time this season.
