02 December 2007 - Knockout Cup 4th Round
Sheppey FC 3-4 AFC White Swan
The fourth round of the Knockout Cup saw Sheppey entertain fellow Maltby team and Division One high flyers AFC White Swan. In an entertaining encounter Sheppey eventually succumbed to their second successive defeat. On a pitch that cut up badly and turned to mud in the driving rain, Sheppey started the better and were infront after only eight minutes. Dunhill swung in a corner from the left and in the ensuing scramble Staniforth was able to stab home the loose ball from 6 yards. The lead didn't last long as Swan were level on the quarter hour. A long ball forward caught the Sheppey defence napping and the Swan centre forward was able to stab the ball past the onrushing new Sheppey keeper Mark Green. On 28 minutes Swan took the league with a powerful free kick from the Swan number 7 that skidded in the mud and under Green.

This time it was Staniforth who fired the ball in low and Morris who knocked the ball home from 6 yards. Again Sheppey failed to keep Swan out for long as with their first real chance of the second half they went back in front. Sheppey needlessly lost the ball in midfield and as the ball was fed through the middle the Swan number 10 was able to slot the ball past the onrushing Green. Seven minutes from time it
