09 December 2007 - Division 2
Alpine 0-9 Sheppey FC
After two consecutive defeats Sheppey got back to winning ways with a comfortable win over basement boys Alpine. Paul Bradley got the ball rolling as early as the 6th minute, scrambling home Morris' corner from the right for his first goal of the season. Six minutes later it was two nil. Again the goal came from a Morris corner from the right, with Chipchase following up to score from close range after the keeper could only parry Dunhill's initial effort. Chris Beech, back in the side after injury, added the third on 24 minutes with a cheeky overhead kick from ten yards after good work by Chipchase. Five minutes from the break Chipchase added his second and Sheppey's fourth, sliding the ball past the advancing keeper after being played through by Staniforth.
HT 0-4
The secondf half started slowly with Sheppey content to pass the ball around and wait for an opening. That opening arrived just after the hour, Bradley grabbing his second goal from Dunhill's left wing corner. Less than a minute later it was six, Staniforth converting from the spot after he was unceremoniously sent sprawling on the edge of the six yard box. Chris Beech grabbed his second of the game on 75 minutes, calmly half volleying home from close range from an exquisit right wing centre from Reynolds. A minute later Morris's corner from the right was sliced into his own net by the Alpine right fullback for goal number seven. Eight minutes from time Alpine created their only real goalscoring chance
